New PlayStation 3 40GB Console
While the price of the PlayStation 3 60GB Console has fallen to around £350, Sony have also released a new model of the PS3 in Europe today. (It also doesn't have SACD playback or the Memory Card Readers built-in to the PS3 60GB)
Sony have decided to discontinue production of the 60GB model. The aim is to lower production costs & offer a cheaper retail price with the PlayStation 3 40GB Console. So, if you want the 60GB version, get it now! Sony's official Press Release states: "Remaining on sale while stocks last, the 60GB..."
